Newfren produces a complete range of clutches with regard to applications and materials. It is, between clutch plates and centrifugal clutches, one of the widest ranges on the market. Newfren use an extensive range of organic and sintered friction materials developed for specific applications. The metal plates are made of special steels which are treated to maximize performance. The range of single-disc dry clutches provides applications for BMW from the 1970s onward, as well as Moto Guzzi and three-wheeled Piaggio, with a high-performance replacement. The original K type, available for all applications, is a high-quality replacement. The more recent KW type incorporates a new friction material composed of a synthetic aramid fiber, of which the main characteristic is its exceptional mechanical resistance to tension and heat. In the event of overheating the material will not suffer glazing and will return to its original characteristics as soon as it cools down. Another important feature of the new type is that its friction material is efficient even if it comes into contact with ”oil”.
